5 Dental Options to Replace Missing Teeth
Timothy M.

An individual’s teeth are highly valued. Strong, healthy teeth are essential for more than just showing off a great grin. Losing a tooth, or several teeth, may significantly impact your ability to eat and communicate normally.

Loss of teeth? Your Dental Options in North Miami:

  1. Dental implant

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically implanted into the jawbone. Dental implants are an excellent solution for a missing tooth, but they might not be ideal if you need several teeth replaced. Yet, dental implants mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth and can survive for many years or even decades before they need to be replaced or corrected. Nevertheless, not everyone should get dental implants in Miami, FL, because they need surgery and usually cost more than bridges or dentures.

  1. Long-term bridge replacement

A fixed bridge literally “bridges the gap” between two or more teeth that are missing. Because of the time-consuming nature of implant placement, bridge customization, and bridge placement in the area of missing teeth, getting a fixed bridge installed typically requires numerous visits to the dentist. However, once in place, a permanent dental bridge mimics the appearance, feel, and function of natural teeth without the hassle of removing the bridge for cleaning. It can save you a lot of money compared to getting an implant.

  1. Bridge with resin-based retainers

Less intrusive than traditional metal-and-crown bridges is the resin-retained kind. While a fixed bridge is best for teeth that are relied upon for chewing, a resin-retained bridge can be a good alternative for missing front teeth, which typically don’t endure as much pressure. The teeth on either side of the gap anchor a resin-retained bridge. Indeed, these bridges last less time than a permanent one but are also cheaper.

  1. Partial denture

Replace a few lost teeth with a removable partial denture, and your smile will reappear and function normally. Although a removable partial denture improves chewing function and aesthetics, it is shorter than a dental implant or bridge and might cause discomfort after prolonged use. Nonetheless, they are the most affordable alternative for tooth replacement and may be easily fixed if broken.

  1. Full removable denture

Removable complete dentures can be time-consuming and arduous, depending on the patient’s tooth count. In contrast to a detachable partial denture, which returns just some of the patient’s lost teeth, a full removable denture restores all or almost all of them. A complete removable denture can improve your smile and oral health, but it must be worn sparingly due to discomfort.
